18 Video Production Companies in Singapore (2026)
Compare 18 video production companies in Singapore for corporate, social media and narrative video, plus filming permits, drone rules and footage rights.

The short answer
- 01
Pick by the video you need. Corporate and training films, commercials, social media cut-downs, narrative films and event live streams each suit different companies.
- 02
Put the deliverables in the quote. List every version, length, aspect ratio, subtitle file and round of changes, and ask who owns the raw footage.
- 03
Plan the shoot around Singapore's rules. Location owners' permission, CAAS permits for drones and consent from people on camera all take time to arrange.
The right video production company in Singapore depends on the video you need. A safety training film and a month of TikToks need different crews and kit, so compare companies by what they make most.
Once the video is made, it has to play smoothly on your website. That is our part: we design and build the pages your videos sit on, and keep them fast.

What kinds of video does a Singapore production company make?
Most video production companies in Singapore make four broad kinds of video, and each one needs a different setup. Knowing which one you need tells you what to ask for in the brief.
- Corporate and training videos include company profiles, leadership messages, recruitment, onboarding and safety inductions. Interviews and filming on site are the core, and approvals often take longer than the shoot.
- Commercials and brand films need concept development, casting, locations and a longer edit. Ask whether TV, cinema and online versions are included, and for how long you may run the ad.
- Social media video is short, usually vertical, and made in batches. It often comes from the same shoot as a bigger film if you plan it that way.
- Event video and live streams need multi-camera crews, sound from the venue and fast turnaround. Same-day highlight edits and live feeds are separate services, so ask for both by name.
Narrative video production sits across these: a scripted story with characters, used for brand films, employer branding or public campaigns. Companies that write their own scripts and cast actors are the ones to ask.
If your video is mostly animation, see our list of animation companies in Singapore, which covers specialist studios. Many companies here combine animation with live action in the same video.
How much does video production cost in Singapore?
Video production in Singapore is priced by scope, not by running time. A one-minute interview video and a one-minute commercial can differ widely in cost, because the shoot days, crew, locations and post-production are different.
The main things that move the price:
- Shoot days and crew size. One camera operator for half a day costs far less than a director, crew and lighting team over three days.
- Locations and permits. Studio time, location fees and permission from owners such as HDB or NParks.
- Talent. Actors, a presenter or voice-over artists, plus how long and where you can use their faces and voices.
- Animation and motion graphics. Charged by complexity and length.
- Music. Library tracks, licensed songs or original music, each with its own licence terms.
- Versions. Every extra length, aspect ratio, language and subtitle file adds editing time.
- Rounds of changes. Most quotes include a fixed number; extra rounds are usually charged.
Most of the companies here do not publish prices on their websites, so send the same brief to two or three companies and compare what each quote includes. Here is a made-up example brief a business could send:
- Goal: a recruitment video for engineering graduates, to sit on our careers page and run on LinkedIn.
- Main video: about two minutes, interviews with three engineers plus footage at our office and one site.
- Versions: a 16:9 web version, a 1:1 and a 9:16 cut of about 30 seconds each, English subtitles burnt in for social and a separate caption file for the website.
- Shoot: one day in Singapore; we arrange site access and safety inductions.
- Music: licensed for online use with no time limit.
- Changes: two rounds on the script and two on the edit.
- Rights: we can use the video and stills from it on our website, social media and recruitment ads; raw footage handed over at the end.
- Deadline: live on our careers page by the end of next quarter.
With every quote built on the same brief, the differences in price and scope are easy to see.
What should a video production quote include?
A good video production quote lists every deliverable, the rights you get and the number of changes, so nothing is left to assumption. Use this checklist when you compare quotes.
The points that cause the most confusion later:
- Versions. “One video” can mean a single 16:9 file. If you also need vertical cuts, short teasers and a version without music for events, list them.
- Subtitles. Burnt-in subtitles suit social media, where many people watch with the sound off. For your website, ask for a separate caption file (such as WebVTT) as well, so captions can be switched on and read by search engines and screen readers.
- Talent usage. Actors’ and presenters’ fees usually depend on where and how long the video runs. A video for internal training costs less to cast than one that runs as a paid ad for a year.
- Music. Ask whether the licence covers paid ads and broadcast, and whether it expires.
- Raw footage. Ask whether you get the raw footage and project files at the end, and in what format.
What a social media video production company delivers
A social media video production company films and edits short videos for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn. These are usually vertical (9:16) with captions and a hook in the first few seconds, often filmed in batches so one shoot day gives several weeks of posts.

Do you need a permit to film in Singapore?
Usually not for streets and walkways, but you do need the location owner’s permission everywhere else.
IMDA’s location filming guide says permits are generally not required for filming on streets and walkways in Singapore, as long as there is no obstruction to vehicles or pedestrians.
For other public places, the guide lists who to ask:
| Location | Who gives permission |
|---|---|
| Public facilities and roads | Land Transport Authority (LTA) |
| Trains and stations | SMRT |
| HDB flats, markets, hawker centres and car parks | Housing & Development Board (HDB) |
| Common areas in HDB estates (playgrounds, lift lobbies, corridors) | The town council |
| URA car parks | Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) |
| Parks and park connectors | National Parks Board (NParks) |
| Reservoirs | PUB |
| Port areas and waters | Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) |
For private property such as malls, offices and restaurants, the owner’s rules apply and take precedence. IMDA also asks productions to tell nearby businesses or neighbours at least 3 working days before filming, and to keep disturbance to a minimum. Driving scenes and road closures involve LTA and the Traffic Police.
Most production companies handle location permissions as part of pre-production. Confirm in the quote whether they do, and whether permit or location fees are included.
Drone filming rules for business shoots
Filming with a drone for a business counts as non-recreational flying, so the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) requirements are stricter than for hobby flying:
- Pilot licence. CAAS requires an Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence for commercial or other non-recreational flying, whatever the drone weighs.
- Permits. A Class 1 Activity Permit is needed when the activity is not recreational or educational, and it is only valid with an Operator Permit. CAAS lists processing times of about 10 working days for an Operator Permit and 5 working days for an Activity Permit.
- Registration. Drones weighing more than 250 grams must be registered with CAAS.
- Events. Flying at an event attended by more than 50 people needs an Operator Permit and a Class 1 Activity Permit, whatever the drone weighs or the height flown, according to CAAS’s requirements for flying unmanned aircraft.
Some areas are off limits altogether, such as protected areas and special event areas. Ask your production company to confirm the licence and permits for your date and location in writing.
Filming people: PDPA consent and notices
Video of an identifiable person is personal data, so the PDPA applies when a business films staff, customers or event guests. PDPC’s Advisory Guidelines on the PDPA for Selected Topics say consent will generally be required for taking a video of an identifiable individual, although consent may be deemed or an exception may apply, and that this includes identifiable people in the background.
In practice:
- Events. Say in the invitation that the event will be filmed and how the video will be used, and put an obvious notice at the entrance. The guidelines give both as examples.
- Interviews and featured people. Get written consent that covers where the video will be used, such as your website, social media and paid ads.
- Drones. PDPC says notices should make people aware that drones are filming in the area, for example at points of entry.
- Withdrawal. People can withdraw consent with reasonable notice, so keep a record of who agreed to what.
Who owns the video when you hire a production company in Singapore?
Under Singapore’s Copyright Act 2021, the production company that makes a commissioned film is the first owner of its copyright by default, unless your contract says otherwise.
IPOS’s notice on the commencement of the Act explains that this applies to commissioned photographs, portraits, engravings, sound recordings and films from 21 November 2021.
Two points soften this. Commissioning parties can still use the work for the purpose it was commissioned for, and both sides can agree in writing to reverse the default so the client owns the copyright.
Before you sign, decide what you need and write it into the contract:
- Copyright in the final video, or a licence that covers every use you plan, including ads and future edits.
- Raw footage and project files, so another editor can make new versions later.
- Stills taken from the shoot, if you want to use them on your website.
- Music, stock footage and talent, which are licensed separately and may have time limits even if you own the video.
How to put video on your website without slowing it down
A video only helps your website if the page still loads quickly. An embedded video player or an autoplaying background adds a lot of weight to a page, which slows it down on phones and can hurt the Core Web Vitals that Google measures.
What we do when a client’s video goes on their site:
- Load the player on click. Show a poster image with a play button, and load the YouTube or Vimeo player only when someone presses play. The page then loads like an image until the visitor wants the video.
- Keep background videos short. A hero loop should be short, muted, without sound in the file at all, set to play inline on phones and compressed hard. A still image often does the job better on mobile.
- Use the right file. Ask your production company for a web-optimised version alongside the master file. Self-hosted video should come in a modern format with an MP4 fallback.
- Reserve the space. Set the video’s width and height so the page does not jump while it loads.
- Add captions and a transcript. A caption file helps viewers watching without sound and people using screen readers, and a transcript gives search engines text to read.
- Mark up the video. VideoObject structured data helps Google show your video in search results.
Our speed optimisation service fixes pages that have become slow, and our web design service builds pages around your video from the start. If the video is for an ad campaign, a landing page that continues the video’s message often works better than sending people to your homepage.
Can you get a grant for video production in Singapore?
Don’t assume so. Enterprise Singapore’s Productivity Solutions Grant, which some older articles mention, closed to new applications on 29 September 2026.
The EDGE grant replaced it from 30 September 2026, with support tied to specific activities. Check that what you want to buy matches an activity on the Enterprise Singapore page, and read its timing rules before any work or payment starts.
How we chose these video production companies
Every company here offers video production as a main service, has a Singapore office or presents itself as a Singapore company, and has a working website that describes its services clearly enough to compare fairly.
Each entry is written only from what the company’s own website says, and the list is alphabetical. Companies whose websites we could not load are left out until the next review.
The rules on filming locations, drones, personal data and copyright come from IMDA, CAAS, PDPC and IPOS, all checked in October 2026. We re-check this list every quarter.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to hire a video production company in Singapore?
It depends on the shoot days, crew size, locations, talent, animation, music and how many versions you need. Most companies quote per project after a brief, not by running time, because a one-minute interview and a one-minute commercial take very different work. Send every company the same brief and ask for a line-by-line quote.
How long does video production take?
A simple interview-led video with a clear brief can take two to four weeks. Several companies on this list quote four to eight weeks for a typical corporate video, and commercials with casting, locations or animation take longer. Your own review and approval time is often the biggest variable.
Who owns the video footage, the client or the production company?
Under Singapore's Copyright Act 2021, the creator of a commissioned film is the first owner of copyright by default, unless the contract says otherwise. You can still use the video for the purpose you commissioned it. If you want to own it outright, or keep the raw footage, put that in the contract.
Do you need a permit to film in Singapore?
IMDA's filming guide says permits are generally not required for filming on streets and walkways, as long as you do not obstruct traffic or pedestrians. You need permission from the owner for other locations, such as HDB for estates and hawker centres, NParks for parks and LTA for roads and public facilities.
Do you need a licence to film with a drone in Singapore?
For business filming, yes. CAAS requires an Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence for commercial or other non-recreational flying, whatever the drone weighs, and an Operator Permit with a Class 1 Activity Permit. Drones over 250 grams must be registered. Ask your production company to show the permits for your date and location.
What does a social media video production company do?
It plans and films short videos for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn, usually in vertical 9:16 with captions and an opening hook. Many corporate video companies also cut social versions from a bigger shoot, so ask for them in the same quote.
Should I choose live action or animation?
Live action suits real people, places, products and customer stories. Animation suits ideas that are hard to film, such as processes, data or software. Many companies on this list do both; for studios that specialise in animation, see our list of animation companies in Singapore.
