15 Best Accounting Software in Singapore (2026): GST and InvoiceNow
Compare 15 accounting software options for Singapore businesses, checked on their own sites: GST filing, InvoiceNow, PayNow, EDGE grant listings and plans.

The short answer
- 01
Start with how your business runs. A sole proprietor sending a few invoices, a GST-registered company and a business with stock to track need different software, so shortlist by what you do every week.
- 02
Check InvoiceNow before you buy. GST-registered businesses must send invoice data to IRAS through InvoiceNow in phases up to 2031. Pick software that appears on IMDA's InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider list.
- 03
Grants now come through EDGE. PSG closed to new applications on 29 September 2026. Three EDGE activities cover accounting software from vendors listed on SMEs Go Digital, and you must apply before you pay.
The best accounting software for a Singapore business fits how you work and keeps you on the right side of IRAS. Start with your weekly basics, then check GST filing, InvoiceNow and PayNow support.
Each product below was checked on its own website and against IMDA’s InvoiceNow and EDGE grant lists. If you sell online, our ecommerce website service builds a store whose orders are easy to bring into your books.
Last checked: October 2026. Each product was checked on its own website, InvoiceNow status on IMDA's InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider list dated 12 October 2026, and grant listings on IMDA's SMEs Go Digital on 20 October 2026. Products are listed alphabetically.
Which accounting software is best for your business in Singapore?
There is no single best accounting software in Singapore. The right one depends on whether you are a sole proprietor, a small company that is or will be GST-registered, a business with stock to track, or a growing group with several entities.
- Sole proprietors and freelancers starting out: Financio Accounting, Jaz, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books
- Small companies that are or will be GST-registered: ABSS Accounting and Premier, Financio Accounting, Info-Tech Cloud Accounting, Jaz, Xero
- Businesses with stock, sales orders or a POS: AutoCount Accounting, Million Accounting and Stock Control, SQL Account, ZETTAPPS
- Micro businesses and MCSTs: Highnix ERP
- Growing companies that want accounting inside a wider system: Odoo Accounting, Oracle NetSuite, Sage 300
If you are not sure where you fit, ask your accountant which software they already work in. Sharing one system with them usually saves time at year end.

What does GST InvoiceNow mean for your accounting software?
If you are GST-registered, your accounting software will need to send invoice data to IRAS through InvoiceNow. IRAS is phasing in the GST InvoiceNow requirement from 2025 to 2031, and businesses using off-the-shelf software should pick a product on IMDA’s InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider list.
| Start date | Who it applies to |
|---|---|
| 1 November 2025 | Newly incorporated companies that register for GST voluntarily within 6 months of incorporation |
| 1 April 2026 | All new voluntary GST registrants |
| 1 April 2028 | New compulsory GST registrants, and existing GST-registered businesses with total annual supplies of S$200,000 or less |
| 1 April 2029 | Existing GST-registered businesses with total annual supplies of S$1 million or less |
| 1 April 2030 | Existing GST-registered businesses with total annual supplies of S$4 million or less |
| 1 April 2031 | All remaining existing GST-registered businesses |
IRAS says it has notified businesses registered before 2026 of their implementation date, and others will be told later. Its page also links an implementation date calculator.
What your software has to do, from the same IRAS page:
- Which invoices. Invoice data for supplies and purchases reported in your GST return, including tax invoices, simplified tax invoices, serially numbered receipts, and debit and credit notes. Point-of-sale and petty cash data can be sent in aggregate.
- When. By the earlier of the date you file the GST return for that period and the return’s due date.
- How. If you use off-the-shelf software, check it is on IMDA’s InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider list, ask the vendor to register your UEN in the SG Peppol Directory, and switch on the submission feature. If your system was built in-house, an IMDA-accredited Access Point provider connects it instead.
- Timing. IRAS says onboarding can take as little as 3 months, and most businesses finish within a year, so start well before your date.
Is there help with the cost of InvoiceNow?
Yes. On IMDA’s InvoiceNow grants page (updated 19 October 2026):
- GST InvoiceNow Transition Grant (S$1,000). For GST-registered businesses with total annual supplies of S$4 million or less in 2025. You must subscribe to an IMDA-accredited InvoiceNow-ready solution, paying for at least 12 months, activate GST InvoiceNow before your deadline and submit invoice data to IRAS. Businesses that already used an InvoiceNow-ready solution in the 3 months before do not qualify. It runs from 1 July 2026 to 31 March 2030, or until fully claimed.
- Larger businesses. A S$5,000 version applies to businesses above S$4 million that connect their own ERP through an accredited Access Point.
- Free packages. IMDA and IRAS say free-of-charge InvoiceNow packages with basic e-invoicing are available until 31 March 2031. Several vendors in this list mention one.
Which accounting software does IRAS accept?
IRAS keeps a listing of software that can file returns directly to IRAS, and that listing is usually what “IRAS-approved” claims refer to. The former IRAS Accounting Software Register Plus (ASR+) ceased on 30 June 2026 and was replaced by the #SFFS Solution Partners framework.
#SFFS stands for Seamless Filing From Software. Listed accounting products have connected to IRAS’s systems for filings such as Form C-S, GST returns (F5, F7 and F8) and GST InvoiceNow, and IRAS notes that a listing is not an endorsement.
In practice, this means:
- “IRAS-approved” or “ASR+ listed” on a vendor page. Ask which #SFFS filings the product supports today: Form C-S, GST returns, GST InvoiceNow, or all of them.
- GST returns. Some products submit GST F5 returns from inside the software; others produce the figures for you to file on myTax Portal. The entries above say which, from each vendor’s own site.
- Records. IRAS says companies are strongly encouraged to keep records in accounting software, and records must be kept for at least 5 years from the relevant Year of Assessment.
Can you get a grant for accounting software in Singapore?
Yes, for many SMEs. Enterprise Singapore’s EDGE grant replaced the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) from 30 September 2026, and three of its activities cover accounting software, at up to 50% of the activity cost for SMEs.
| EDGE activity | What it covers | Activity cost cap | Support for SMEs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accounting and Sales Management | General ledger, journal entries, tax calculations, cash flow, quotations, invoices and reports | S$5,000 | Up to 50% (S$2,500) |
| Accounting, Inventory, and Sales Management | Accounting with inventory, sales, barcode labelling, RFID and POS integration | S$20,000 | Up to 50% (S$10,000) |
| AI Accounting Automation | AI tools that automate accounting tasks and integrate with your existing software | S$5,000 | Up to 50% (S$2,500) |
The conditions that catch people out, from the activity pages:
- Apply first. You must not start work or pay a deposit to the vendor before you submit the application.
- Software only. Supported costs are software for up to 12 months. GST and maintenance are listed as not supported.
- Listed packages only. You choose a pre-approved package on IMDA’s SMEs Go Digital, and the package should match the vendor’s quotation exactly.
- Who qualifies. The business must be registered and operating in Singapore and at least 30% owned by Singaporeans or permanent residents. The inventory and AI activities also exclude home-based businesses. You must not have applied for grant support for the same solution before.
- Time limit and caps. The project must finish within 18 months of approval, and all automation and digitalisation support counts towards a S$30,000 yearly cap, inside EDGE’s overall S$100,000 a year.
On 20 October 2026, SMEs Go Digital listed 41 packages under Accounting and Sales Management, 29 under Accounting, Inventory and Sales Management and 2 under AI Accounting Automation. Many are the same product sold by different resellers, so ask which package your quotation is for. IMDA notes that listings are for information only and are not an endorsement.
Some vendor pages still mention PSG. Grant support now comes through EDGE, so check the current activity page before you rely on a figure. Budget for year two without the grant, since only 12 months of software are supported.
Should your accounting software handle PayNow and foreign currency?
Yes, if your customers pay by PayNow or you invoice in other currencies. A PayNow QR on each invoice or payment link helps customers pay quickly, and foreign-currency invoices must still show GST amounts in Singapore dollars.
- PayNow for businesses. Businesses receive PayNow by linking their UEN to a Singapore bank or e-wallet account, and the Association of Banks in Singapore says the PayNow QR is integrated with SGQR. ABS also says businesses may not add a surcharge for consumers paying by PayNow.
- How software adds PayNow. From the vendors’ own sites: some print a PayNow QR code on the invoice, others take PayNow through a payment gateway such as Stripe or HitPay. A QR on the invoice still needs someone to match the bank credit; a gateway can mark the invoice as paid automatically, usually for a fee.
- Foreign currency. Under IRAS invoicing rules, a tax invoice in a foreign currency must show the total excluding GST, the GST payable and the total including GST in Singapore dollars, converted at an exchange rate approved for GST purposes. Check that your software prints the SGD lines, not just the converted total.
- Plan level. Several vendors in this list include multi-currency only on higher plans, so confirm the plan before you sign.

How do you connect your online store to your accounting software?
Decide whether orders reach your books one by one or as a daily summary, then map each kind of amount to the right account and GST code. Most problems come from fees and payouts, not from the orders themselves.
- Choose the sync. A store with many small orders often sends a daily summary; a business that sells to companies may want each invoice. Some vendors in this list name Shopify or WooCommerce links, and others work through connector apps.
- Map accounts and GST codes. Sales, shipping charges, discounts and refunds each need an account, and GST-registered stores need the right tax code on each line.
- Record gateway fees. Payment providers pay out the sale minus their fee. Record the full sale and the fee separately, so your sales figures and GST stay correct.
- Match payouts to orders. Card, PayNow and wallet payments often arrive on different days from different providers. Match each payout to its orders, or the bank reconciliation will not balance.
- Check against your GST return. Before each return, compare sales in your store with sales in your accounts for the period.
A POS in a shop or restaurant raises the same questions. Our list of POS systems in Singapore shows which systems name links to accounting software. If you are building a store on WooCommerce, our WooCommerce development team sets up PayNow through a supporting gateway and can connect the store to other systems through their APIs.
Does accounting software handle ACRA XBRL filing?
Some do, but most companies still need their accountant to prepare the financial statements. ACRA’s XBRL filing requirements changed on 19 October 2026 to ACRA Taxonomy 2026.
- Who files what. Smaller and non-publicly accountable companies file simplified XBRL plus a PDF copy authorised by the directors. Most other Singapore-incorporated companies file full XBRL.
- Smaller company test. ACRA counts a company as smaller when its revenue and its total assets for the current financial year are each S$500,000 or less.
- Exempt. Solvent exempt private companies and dormant relevant companies that meet the conditions do not need to file financial statements, though solvent exempt private companies may file voluntarily.
- Software. Of the vendors in this list, AutoCount’s site says it can prepare and file XBRL financial statements. For others, ask whether the software exports a trial balance your accountant can use.
How do you switch accounting software in Singapore?
Switch at the start of a financial year or a GST quarter, bring across opening balances rather than every past transaction, and keep the old records where you can retrieve them for at least 5 years.
IRAS’s record-keeping page says a company that changes software does not have to migrate old transactions, but must keep them and be able to retrieve them for at least 5 years. Before you cancel the old subscription:
- Export everything. Download the general ledger, trial balance, customer and supplier lists, open invoices and bills, and the source documents attached to them.
- Check access after cancelling. Ask the old vendor whether you keep read-only access, and for how long.
- Move your InvoiceNow registration. Ask the new vendor how they move your UEN’s Peppol registration from the old provider, and when to do it.
- Run in parallel once. Reconcile one month in both systems before you stop using the old one.
What should you ask an accounting software vendor before you sign?
Ask for the plan that includes everything you need, how InvoiceNow and GST filing work, which bank connects, and how you take all your data with you if you leave. These answers decide what the software costs you over a few years.
- Try it with your own month. Enter a month of real invoices, bills and bank lines during the trial, and time how long the bank reconciliation takes.
- Ask about InvoiceNow on your plan. Confirm the product is on IMDA’s list, whether GST InvoiceNow is included in your plan or charged per invoice, and who registers your UEN.
- Ask about your accountant. Check whether your accountant can log in at no extra cost and whether they already use the software.
- Plan for leaving. Ask whether you can export the ledger, contacts and documents in a standard format such as CSV or Excel, and how long you keep access after cancelling.
- Customer data. Invoices and customer lists hold personal data, so the PDPA applies. Ask where the data is stored and who can access it.
How we chose this accounting software
Every product here is sold to Singapore businesses today and has a website that describes it clearly enough to compare. Each entry uses only what the vendor’s own website says, without ratings, reviews or prices.
InvoiceNow status comes from IMDA’s InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider list dated 12 October 2026, and grant listings from IMDA’s SMEs Go Digital on 20 October 2026.
For this update we re-checked the products in the previous version of this article and in an older companion article that it replaces. Of those, 7 are still listed, one of them under its current name, and 5 were removed because they are no longer offered to Singapore businesses or we could not confirm Singapore details on their own sites. We then checked the products that appear in the top search results and on IMDA’s lists, and added 8 that met the same test. Another 4 were checked and left out for the same reasons.
We re-check this list every quarter, and InvoiceNow and grant listings whenever IRAS, IMDA or Enterprise Singapore change them.
Connecting your accounting software to your website
Your accounting software keeps the books, but the sale often starts on your website, through an online store, a booking form or a payment link.
We design and build online stores, custom-built or on WooCommerce, with PayNow, cards and PayPal at checkout through a supporting payment gateway, tested before launch. See our ecommerce website service or talk to us about your store.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best accounting software in Singapore?
There is no single best one. Shortlist two or three products that suit how your business runs, appear on IMDA's InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider list if you are GST-registered, connect to your bank and your accountant, and let you export all your data if you leave. Then try each one with a month of your own transactions.
Is there free accounting software in Singapore?
Yes. Some vendors in this list offer a free plan, such as Zoho Books, Jaz and Odoo's one-app plan, and Highnix has a tier with no software fee for up to three users. Free plans usually limit users, invoices or features, so check whether GST reports, InvoiceNow and bank feeds are included before you rely on one.
What is the simplest accounting software for a small business?
The simplest is the one that covers only what you do: invoices, expenses, a bank feed and the GST reports you need. Cloud software with a free trial lets you test this with your own transactions before you commit. Ask your accountant which software they already work in.
Is MYOB or Xero better for a small business in Singapore?
MYOB is not sold in Singapore today; its own site lists only Australia and New Zealand. Its former Singapore business became ABSS, which sells Windows desktop accounting with cloud-connected services. Xero runs in the browser. Choose between desktop and cloud first, then compare GST filing, InvoiceNow and the plan you need.
Does accounting software file GST returns to IRAS automatically?
Some do. Several vendors in this list say you can submit GST F5 returns to IRAS from inside the software, while others produce the figures and you file on myTax Portal yourself. Check the vendor's own help pages for the exact steps, and keep reviewing the return before it is submitted.
Do I need InvoiceNow if I am not GST-registered?
The GST InvoiceNow requirement applies to GST-registered businesses, in phases set by IRAS. If you are not GST-registered, you can still use InvoiceNow to send and receive e-invoices with customers and suppliers, and choosing software that supports it saves a switch later if you register.
Can ChatGPT do bookkeeping?
A general chatbot can explain accounting terms or draft a journal entry, but it does not keep your ledger, connect to your bank or submit returns to IRAS. Some accounting software now includes AI features for reading receipts or matching bank lines. You still need records that IRAS can audit for at least 5 years.
